Who We Are

Hakiware is an independent software studio registered in Morocco under ICE number 003673187000049, with its registered office in Tangier, Morocco. We build mobile applications, web applications, websites, and related digital services (collectively, the "Services").

Hakiware processes personal data in accordance with applicable Moroccan law, and in particular Law No. 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data. Where our Services are made available to users in the European Economic Area, we also comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Where a processing activity is subject to notification, authorisation, or any other prior formality with the Moroccan data protection authority (CNDP), Hakiware undertakes to complete the applicable formalities before the relevant processing activity is put into production.

This policy applies to all products and services developed and operated by Hakiware. Individual products may link to this page as their privacy notice.

Information We Collect

We collect information when you download, access, or use any of our applications or Services in order to operate them, improve their performance, and support account and security features. Depending on the specific Service you use, the categories of data collected may include:

  • Identity & contact data — full name or username, phone number, and email address.
  • Account & profile data — account type, language preferences, and profile information.
  • Service usage data — requests, activity history, messages, photos or files sent, ratings and reviews.
  • Verification data — identity documents (e.g. national ID) and professional certificates where applicable for professional-tier accounts.
  • Technical & device data — IP address, device identifiers, OS version, app version, pages / screens visited, timestamps, and session duration.
  • Location data — approximate or precise geographic location, where you grant permission.

We collect only the data that is necessary for the specific Service. Not all categories listed above apply to every product.

Some information is required to create an account, authenticate you, process a transaction, or deliver a feature you requested. Other information is optional and only provided if you choose to use the related functionality. If you do not provide data marked as required in a given product flow, we may be unable to provide the corresponding Service or feature.

How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect to:

  • Deliver, maintain, and improve our Services.
  • Create and manage your account, authenticate your identity, and keep your account secure.
  • Personalise your experience and surface relevant content or recommendations.
  • Send transactional communications (e.g. verification codes, order confirmations, service updates).

Depending on the product and the purpose involved, processing may be based on your consent, the need to perform a contract or provide a requested service, compliance with a legal obligation, or Hakiware's legitimate need to secure and operate its Services in a proportionate manner.

Location Data

Our applications may collect the location of your device in order to determine your approximate geographic area and to provide location-based features (such as finding nearby professionals or services).

  • Location data may be used for personalised content and relevant recommendations.
  • Aggregated and anonymised location data may be used for analytics and service improvement.
  • Anonymised location data may be shared periodically with third-party services that help us optimise the application.

You can disable location access at any time through your device's permission settings. Doing so may limit certain features of the Service.

SMS Verification

We use SMS messages to verify your account and protect against unauthorised access. Your explicit consent is obtained before any verification code is sent. Standard message and data rates charged by your carrier may apply.

Payments

Where our Services include payment functionality, transactions are processed by trusted third-party payment providers. We do not store sensitive payment information such as full card numbers in plain text. All payment transactions are encrypted using industry-standard security protocols.

Identity Verification & Fraud Prevention

For certain Services, we may use third-party providers to verify the identity of professional users, validate documents, and prevent fraudulent activity on our platforms. This helps us ensure safety and trust for all users.

Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data in the following circumstances:

  • Only aggregated or anonymised data is shared with external analytics or optimisation services.
  • With infrastructure and hosting providers, including Hetzner Online GmbH for hosting and related infrastructure services.
  • With payment providers, SMS or communications providers, identity-verification providers, and support tools where required to deliver the relevant Service.
  • With trusted service providers acting on our behalf who have no independent right to use the disclosed information beyond performing services for us.
  • When required by law, a subpoena, or a similar legal process.
  • When disclosure is necessary to protect rights, investigate fraud, ensure safety, or respond to a government request.

Where personal data is transferred or made accessible outside Morocco, we will assess whether the transfer is subject to specific legal formalities and will apply the safeguards required by applicable law before the transfer takes place.

Your Choices & Deletion Requests

You may stop all collection of information by an application by uninstalling it using the standard uninstall process available on your device or through its app store. You may also contact us at contact@hakiware.com to request account deletion.

Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our Services, support our legitimate business operations, and comply with legal obligations. User-provided data may be retained for as long as you use the application and for a reasonable period thereafter.

In practice, account and profile information is generally kept while your account remains active; transaction, billing, and anti-fraud records may be kept for the period required by law or for the duration necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; and technical logs are retained for shorter operational and security periods unless a longer retention period is required for an incident investigation or legal obligation.

Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents and guardians should supervise children's online activities and prevent them from sharing personal information without permission.

If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact contact@hakiware.com and we will promptly delete the information. You must also be at least 16 years old to consent to the processing of your personal information in your country, unless a parent or guardian can do so on your behalf.

Security

We take the security of your information seriously and use physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the data we process and store, including:

  • TLS / HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
  • Protected storage of sensitive information and operational secrets.
  • Access controls, operational restrictions, and monitoring procedures.
  • Reasonable administrative and procedural guarantees for continuous protection.

International Data Transfers

Our infrastructure is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany (European Union). Where data is processed outside the EU, we will clearly disclose this and apply appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your rights.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access your personal data.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Object to certain processing activities.
  • Request data portability where applicable.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
